FEZ ULTIKIT - [FEZ Accu Test]
I have a lot of rechargeable NiMH AA-batteries. They can be recharged when empty but the remaining capacity decreases as they are getting older. To ensure your batteries are still healthy you should test them sometimes. This can be done with the help of a battery tester: a device that will perform a charge- discharge-charge cycle. During the discharge the remaining capacity - usually given in mAh) is measured.
I have such tester but I also wanted to create an electronic circuit myself that could characterize my batteries. Its purpose: run a controlled decharging cycle and mesure the battery voltage over time.
The device will measure the voltage over a total time of 8 hours. Afterwards it will generate data that can be turned into graphs. You can see a sample graph at the left.
As this is a larger project I have split the description in multiple webpages.
